| Just an angsty little poem I wrote some time ago. It just popped into my head, believe it or not.
SPHINX
I sit here,
Watching,
Watching,
Watching across these lonely sands.
For one to grace my presence.
I sit here,
Waiting,
Waiting,
Waiting to be freed from these sands.
For one to deliver me.
I sit here,
Wailing,
Wailing,
Wailing across these dreary sands.
For I am but stone, painful stone.
Does anyone hear me?
No, they do not.
My voice falls on the wind
I sit here,
Watching,
Watching,
Watching all these modern people.
As they chat away once more.
I sit here,
Waiting,
Waiting,
Waiting to befriend those people.
As they buzz about, like bees.
I sit here,
Wailing,
Wailing,
Wailing about my sorry state.
As my heart is stone, mere stone.
Does anyone hear me?

| It sounds like a song? Weird, I never thought of it as a song...O_o But a poem is a poem, and songs are basically poetry, so I guess it could be a song.  | |

| haha....I had this beat in my head that my brothers were playing in the other room and while I was reading it it sorta went along with the beat...lol. | |

| That is awesome Alanna. And I agree that it could be a song. When I read that I think of Evanescence style music. I don't know why. Lol. I just do, but they are amazing so take that as a compliment. | |

| Yes, I've listened to Evanescence before- I especially liked "Bring Me to Life". I never thought of this poem as a song, though, so I'm quite surprised at everyone's comments. Oh well, cookies for all of ya!  | |
